Paul – Technical Director / Managing Director

Paul has been working on shows for over 15 years. It all began with stage managing for Studley Operatic Society and operating sound for Starlight school of Dance. Paul’s passion is sound although he can also be found behind the lighting desk. Paul first used a sound desk at the age of 13 when operating sound for a local band and a church panto. Paul takes the lead in running the company but is supported by Hannah, Rachael and Jacob.

Paul is fully DBS checked and has been working with children for many years as we also run a children’s entertainment company. Paul also works for DMX Productions as a warehouse manager, managing all the warehouse and show prep for large scale productions and festivals.

 
 
 
 
Hannah – Creative Director

Hannah has been working on shows since she was 10 and is now the creative lead for Theatre SSL.  She can be found running the shows we work on from the control point.  She cues all the shows using our fantastic show software – Show Cue Systems. Hannah is also our lead lighting designer.

But before we even get to the theatre Hannah works very hard with prep work for shows, creating mic plots for all radio mics and pre plotting lighting ready to go into the theatre.

Hannah also works on the social media team, keeping up to date with our social media posts and messages.

Hannah is fully DBS checked and is currently in her last year of University studying to be a primary teacher and also teaches at Stagecoach Redditch. Hannah is a keen performer and is often found on stage with Redditch Operatic Society shows at the Palace Theatre Redditch

Theatre SSL are a family run company that specialise in Sound and Lighting for Theatre shows and events small and big.
Theatre SSL came about over 15 years ago when our daughter Hannah was in a ballet school and they were needing a sound technician for their annual panto at our local theatre in Redditch. Our aim is to provide fantastic quality, cost effective equipment for educational and community theatre.

We are located in Redditch and work with lots of groups in surrounding areas. From children based groups, local amateur groups to doing full productions for a 1 month long run of a professional show.

Theatre SSL started out by helping to edit music for panto and stage managing for Redditch Operatic Society and then going on to purchasing radio mics, but as we have grown we have added other equipment such as lighting and effects to enhance any show or event. We found lots of small groups could not hire equipment in due to the costs but our aim is to be able to work with your budget to get the best show possible.

We work with lots of local schools and groups.  We can do everything you need to make your production exactly how you want.  From hire of equipment to full sound and lighting packages with our own technicians.
